busy

I can't believe that I have not posted for a whole month...well I can...life has been hectic....as it is for everyone. But, between extra days teaching, middle sons birthday, a trip to Sydney to visit family, school Cabarets and never ending home renovations...I have slipped in the blog posting department!
By the way Sydney was great! Had a ball exploring the harbour and just loved the Botanic Gardens..the bats amaze me.They look unusual on the photo above...only because I posted them before rotating the picture. Whoops! Great to see Mum and Dad can't wait for Christmas to catch up again. Speaking of which have begun the wrapping, with a very simple brown paper, grosgrain ribbon and my own printed tags. I'm chuffed...nice to look at, after all you have to live with it all for a month!
Soooo, hopefully back to printing this week...and some more regular posting.

introducing......

.......my new best friend!!! Of course there will be those getting to know you awkward moments...but fear not I will spend a lot of time finding out all about Mac...I feel that this is the beginning of a wonderful new relationship.

Soooo....I will be playing and playing.....and hopefully coming up with some ideas to share. I can't wait to get started!

Also, one of two new cushions that I am putting together ....have had a a friend teaching me about zippers which I was quite frightened of, but now I am ready to try for myself...I suppose we shall see how the lesson pays off on the next cushion. Thanks Leanne!

goodbye to fires

Well I knew that the time would eventually arrive....the warmer weather has crept its way in and as happy as I am about summer days coming, I am soooo sad to say goodbye to the many fires that we have enjoyed over winter and autumn. I shall just have to stare longingly at you until the cold comes our way again...sniff ....sob. On a happier note we will be spending many summer days finishing our backyard....filling garden beds ....trying to chose drought friendly plants...looking forward to it. Hopefully we don't fast forward to next year where I lament about the death of them!

reindeer

Run away little fellow...very soon you will be smothered in ink and printed with repeatedly!

A new cut drying in the sun, he will be a new experiment on trying my printing to make some cards. I like him already, just as he is ...very plain and flighty!

I might cut out a few little friends for him...for other cards...Christmas types...nothing too commercial...no santas or snowmen...let's see what happens....

babushka

A day of experimenting with some little Babushka prints. Will transform these little ladies in to more hanging softies. I am happy with the red and may even use a couple on some t-shirts. Also finished some more bags using my Strawberry print. Love the bags....could have been happier if the fabric that I printed the strawberries on to was white. Will try that next time.

Some beautiful spring weather this weekend...hope it's as nice in your neck of the woods!

new trims

Very excited to receive these lovely trims from retrosaria ( rosapomar.com) They are just gorgeous and my mind is already ticking over with some little ideas. This site is really great ....japanese fabrics, softies in retro fabric...and ribbon to die for! Can't wait for the Little Red Riding Hood trim due out in late October!

what a hoot!

New Project. Some Christmas owls...with snow flakes in their bellies...they are glittery silver and difficult to show up in a photo. The owls themselves are an antique gold....we'll see how it all comes together....I'm hoping that they will find their way to becoming softie Christmas door hangers. Planning on another softie...but lets see how this pans out first!

11 weeks to Christmas!

sew what

Have finally picked up my much longed for sewing machine! Gee when I think of the time it took to sew the edges on a certain 3 year olds table runner for her birthday.....mannn....think of the time I will save now! Whipped up two draught snakes in no time....using my own printed fabric...and Aunty Cookies'....what to make next? What do you fill these things with? Rice...sand ...beans??
